It’s an honour for you to be considering me as your celebrant - thank you! This is me.
My professional background is in leadership roles, all linked in some way to how we use the earth well. I’ve worked in urban regeneration, forestry and agriculture. I also have a long involvement in disability issues and have done care and support work of varied kinds.
When I’m not being a celebrant you’ll find me working part-time in the business school of my local university, co-ordinating volunteers in my local wood, hanging out with friends (preferably in a garden of some sort!) or being with my family. I’m still agile enough to give my young grandchildren a run for their money, which is a big joy.
My spiritual journey is important to me - it helps me find meaning, contentment and resilience. It’s always an honour to listen deeply to how the person I am with finds meaning and wants to express it at the key times of joy or sadness.
I write regularly and love words, love finding the right ones for you. But they can limit us too, which means I love ceremonies which don’t rely only on them - art, movement, silence, actions - let’s have more of all of those! A big honour was doing the funeral of someone I loved dearly who had no blood family. She loved colour, loved movement, wanted us to stay close to her and I believe we did that.
I run a little EV which I’d like to say is black but is often muddy brown, given my life on little country roads as well as the M5. I love day trips, films, face to face fun, showing up even when it’s difficult and finding good things to do, eat and enjoy which aren’t doing further damage to our lovely earth.
I have 5 minnows, a bronze deer, a stone otter and the enjoyment of my sons’ cats without any commitment to my own. Happy days! Hoping to meet you too.
